HTC Blinkfeed app is undoubtedly one of the best apps that come pre-installed with any HTC device. Because of its super smooth UI, it has been the apple of eye for HTC users.

However, HTC left millions of hearts broken when they announced the introduction of ads in Blinkfeed. A new Blinkfeed update that rolled out recently added the ability to show ads in between the feeds.

In the blog post HTC mentioned that the advertisements will be limited in number and will blend in between the feeds. For now, the advertisements will be shown in a few markets only and will expand to other markets in the future.

Ads in BlinkFeed will be clearly marked with a Sponsored label or a Buy Now button and will look something like this.

After the huge success of HTC Desire 816, the Taiwanese company has came up with another beast in the market, the Desire 820 which packs in a more powerful processor, a better front camera, Gorilla Glass 3 and a variety of new enhancements. So, is it good enough to become the successor of the much loved Desire 816? We check it out.

So, let’s start the HTC Desire 820 review.

Build& Design

HTC Desire 820 follows the same design language that HTC has adopted for its desire series. With unibody plastic shell and rounded corners, its appearance resembles the Desire 816 to a great extent.

Despite the fact that the whole body is made up of plastic, it still manages to feel premium while holding. It sports a huge display of 5.5 inch which is otherwise very nice but at times makes holding the device a bit tough.

Desire 820 sports dual-tone colours unlike the Desire 816 and it makes the device look a lot premium.

The device has volume rockers and power key on the right, while the SIM and SD card slots are placed on the left. Placement of the power key is very good and thus makes locking and unlocking device easier.

On the rear side, the 13MP camera with LED flash is situated along with the company’s logo. It has a glossy finish and easily gets smudged.
