HTC Blinkfeed app is undoubtedly one of the best apps that come pre-installed with any HTC device. Because of its super smooth UI, it has been the apple of eye for HTC users.

However, HTC left millions of hearts broken when they announced the introduction of ads in Blinkfeed. A new Blinkfeed update that rolled out recently added the ability to show ads in between the feeds.

In the blog post HTC mentioned that the advertisements will be limited in number and will blend in between the feeds. For now, the advertisements will be shown in a few markets only and will expand to other markets in the future.

Ads in BlinkFeed will be clearly marked with a Sponsored label or a Buy Now button and will look something like this.

Just like us, are you also annoyed with this step of HTC? Well, worry not. Today we are here with a way by which you can turn off Blinkfeed ads on your HTC and live tension free.

How To Disable BlinkFeed ads

To Turn off BlinkFeed ads you just need to follow the below mentioned steps.

  1. Swipe to the left from Home screen to access BlinkFeed.
  2. Tap on the hamburger menu present in the top left corner of the screen.
  3. Now a new side panel will launch. Press the three dots here to display the menu.
  4. Now Select Settings > Manage Adsturn off blinkfeed ads
  5. Select “Turn off internet-based ads” option.

Though introducing ads in BlinkFeed is not a good idea at all, yet by providing an option to turn off the ads, HTC has tried to play safe.

However, the lollipop update has brought a few issues along with itself. A lot of users have been reporting loss of available storage space in the device after upgrading their device to Android 5.0 lollipop. Out of 8 GB internal storage, only 1.3 GB now seems to be available for the user.

Since this is an official update from HTC, such an issue is something totally unexpected. With only 1.3 GB available out of 8 GB internal storage, users are forced to get rid of important apps and personal data which was already stored on the internal storage.

Another issue that the users are facing is of inability to move apps to the SD card. Unlike earlier, only few of the apps are now getting moved to the SD card and actually many of them are not even getting transferred completely.

We tried to reach HTC for the issue but didn’t get any reply.

So, if you are an HTC Desire 816 user and facing these issues, show your response by re twitting the above embedded tweet.
